The fee for a standard 50-minute session (in-person/video/telephone) is $230.

The full fee is payable at the time of your appointment via Stripe; a secure online payment platform that accepts all major debit and credit cards.

You may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65 per session for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. This means that your out of pocket total cost for each session is $133.35.

The Medicare Claim will be processed on your behalf after each appointment. The Medicare rebate will typically be in your bank account within 48 hours. Please note that Medicare does not cover late cancellations or non-attendance fees.

To be eligible for this rebate, you will need to schedule a consultation with your GP to discuss receiving a referral for a psychologist through a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). When making your appointment with the GP, be sure to inform them of the reason for your visit.

GPs will initially refer to a psychologist for up to 6 sessions. If you need more sessions, then your psychologist will write a letter to your GP to support your request for the remaining 4 sessions.

If you have private health insurance, you might qualify for a rebate through your insurance provider. Since coverage levels and providers vary greatly, it's important to first confirm the coverage details of your personal policy with your provider before making a claim.

At Authentic Insight Psychology, we strive to provide effective psychological support to all our clients. Consistent therapy yields the best outcomes for clients and so our cancellation policy is designed with consideration for both our clients' needs and the demands of scheduling.

We kindly request that any cancellations are made at least 2 business days (i.e. 48 hours) before your scheduled appointment as this allows us to accommodate others who may be in need of support.

Understanding that emergencies can happen, late cancellations will incur charges as outlined below.

• 48 - 24 hours before your scheduled appointment: 50% of the session fee

• Less than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment: 100% of the session fee

• Failure to attend scheduled appointment and without any communication: 100% of the session fee

Please note that Medicare does not cover late cancellations or non-attendance fees.

To help you remember your appointment, Authentic Insight Psychology sends you:

• an appointment confirmation email upon booking

• a courtesy email and SMS reminder 3 days prior to your appointment

Despite this service we offer to aid your memory, it remains your responsibility to keep track of and attend your scheduled appointments. Please note that our cancellation policy applies regardless of whether you receive the reminders.
